Cobot imageWe are all aware that technology is reshaping the economy – and now the workforce. It provides opportunities for companies to see their way through the ever-present workforce challenge - too many businesses cannot find the skilled workers they need, when they need them and where they need them.

The onset of Industry 4.0 / the technology revolution introduced many resources as a solution for the workforce challenge that many are facing. These resources are an innovative and creative way to improve the workforce efficiency and productivity. Examples of such innovations include:

Collaborative Robots

Also known as cobots, these machines are designed to give small and mid-size manufacturers all the benefits of advanced robotic automation, without the costs and risks associated. Cobots work side-by-side with employees and not as replacements. Adopting cobots allows for automation of mundane, repetitive and manual tasks, which frees up employees to focus on more engaging tasks that result in better quality work and increased job satisfaction.

Training Within Industry (TWI)

Motivating employees to is a challenge in and of itself. Leaders need to be able to get people to do their work – when and how it needs to be done – in order for operations to run smoothly. This requires a skillset that can be learned and nurtured until they can be put into practice. Although not new, TWI provides team leads and front line supervisors with the tools to lead, instruct and improve how jobs are done. It is a systematic approach to sustain changes and continuously improve work across departments in an organization.

Video Work Instruction

To maintain competitiveness and save time and resources, it’s time to evolve with the technological revolution. The days of paper and picture work instructions are long gone. Incorporating video work instructions in your training curriculum is a safe and efficient way to teach tasks and reduce the need for existing staff to provide training. This is especially beneficial for inexperienced technicians. The technology provides hands-on experience as new technicians learn the step-by-step best practices to complete tasks, allowing them to perform highly specialized tasks just as well as senior technicians.

Employee Engagement Surveys

Do you know how you employees truly feel about your organization? An Employee Engagement Survey reveals this and other insightful information that allows organizations to make workforce and cultural improvements that result in engaged employees and increased retention rate. Other benefits of conducting and Employee Engagement Survey includes:

  • Increased Performance
  • Motivated Employees
  • Reduced Turnover

At the Training and Technology to Upskill Your Workforce event on October 28, attendees will be introduced to technologies, tools and various trainings to expand the productivity of your workforce. The event will go into further details on these workforce development opportunities, along with a hands-on demonstration of the technology:

  • Collaborative Robotics
  • Training Within Industry
