Manufacturing Skills Training available through Lake Land College Industrial Programs

IMEC and the staff at the LLC Center for Business & Industry are reaching out to companies in the LLC district for manufacturing/industrial-related offerings to train current or future workers on essential skills for the workplace... Manufacturing Skills Training

 

April 9, 2013 - PLC Level 1 SLC 500

This 36-hour course provides participants with practical skills to service and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley SLC 500 Programmable Logic Controllers.

Instructional topics include:
 Evolution of PLCs
 PLC Components and assembly
 Understanding Inputs and Outputs.
 The CPU
 Memory Organization
 I/O Addressing
and more.

Lab Exercises include:
 Assembling and commissioning a PLC
 Communicating with PLC using RSLinx software
 Connecting to a PLC, uploading and downloading programs using RSLogix software
 Program documentation
 Using basic instructions
and more.
*Applied Industrial Electricity training or equivalent skills required for this class.

 

March 26, 2013 - Applied Industrial Electricity

This 24 hour course is designed to provide participants with the skills necessary to safely work with and troubleshoot electrical systems and motor controls.

Instructional topics include:
 Electrical Safety, Lockout/Tagout, NFPA-70E
 Test Equipment
 DC & AC Circuits
 Electrical Symbols & Schematics & Documentation
 Circuit Protection
 Transformers
 Power Supplies
 Solenoids
and more.

Lab Exercises include:
 Proper use of Test Equipment
 DC Circuits
 AC Circuits & Reactive Devices
 Print Reading
and more.
*Employees participating in this training must be familiar with industrial equipment.
