“Make Your Career Here” scheduled for April 30, 2015
Northern Illinois communities are jumping onboard with a new, spring launch of the MFG Day program for students and community members in the area. Twelve employers will provide tours to students from seven area schools including Dakota, Durand, Freeport, Orangeville, Pearl City, and Pecatonica. Each school will tour two locations.
Students will then travel to Highland Community College to participate in a manufacturing-focused expo. The expo includes employers presenting their products, career opportunities, and general overview. Here students will also discover community career and educational opportunities, both professional and technical, in the manufacturing sector.
Participating employers include: Adkins Energy, Anpec Industries, Berner Foods, Comcast, ComEd, Danfoss, Frontier, Furst McNess, FurstStaffing, Honeywell, Hunter Haven, Modern Plating, Nuestro Queso, Pearl City Elevator, Pearl Valley Eggs, Plumbers/Pipefitters, Protocutter, Stephenson Service Company, Titan Tire, TR Machine, and TriStar Metals.
The organizing committee for the 4.30.15 MFG Day event consists of Adkins Energy, Berner Food & Beverage, CareerTEC, FurstStaffing, Illinois Manufacturing Excellence Center (IMEC), Highland Community College, Honeywell, and NIDA. The inaugural event is sponsored in part by the United Way.
