IMEC President David Boulay will discuss outlook for industrial sector in 2012

David Boulay, president of the Illinois Manufacturing Extension Center (IMEC), is a featured presenter at fourth annual Illinois Financial Forecast Forum, hosted by Northern Illinois University’s Center for Governmental Studies Civic Leadership Academy and the Illinois City/County Management Association.  The event will be held at NIU’s Naperville campus on Friday, January 27, 2012 from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Boulay will provide perspectives on the outlook for manufacturing productivity and growth in Illinois, discuss the challenges faced by the state’s manufacturers, and suggest steps that state and local governments and the private sector can take together to create the conditions for manufacturers to expand and create high wage jobs in Illinois.  IMEC is a nonprofit economic development organization which provides hands-on, expert assistance to small and mid-sized Illinois manufacturers to help them be more productive and globally competitive.

Other speakers include Rick Mattoon, economist, Chicago Federal Reserve; residential real estate expert Chris Huecksteadt, Metrostudy; automotive industry expert Carl Woodward, Woodward & Associates; C. Kelly Cofer, retail and commercial real estate expert; and State Treasurer Dan Rutherford.
