Ameren Illinois, in conjunction with corporate and nonprofit partners, is pleased to offer short-term competency-based trainings and certification programs that can benefit any manufacturer in Illinois.  Two of the programs: Building Operator Certification and Certified Energy Manager (CEM) Training offer the unique opportunity to earn credentials at a great value while gaining hands-on experience that translates to manufacturing energy efficiency and sustainable improvements across industries.

Building Operator Certification Course
The Building Operator Certification is a nationally recognized, award-winning program that offers facilities personnel the improved job skills and knowledge to transform workplaces to be more comfortable, energy efficient, and environmentally friendly.  The 74 hours of class and hands-on project time focuses on a number of issues like HVAC controls fundamentals and facility electrical systems.  The registration fee of $1,400 covers all class materials, books, continental breakfast, lunch, and credential recognition materials.

Certified Energy Manager Training
The Ameren Illinois Energy Efficiency Program has partnered with the Association of Energy Engineers to host Certified Energy Manager (CEM) training. The CEM training has become widely accepted as a measure of professional accomplishment within the energy management field.  Ameren Illinois offers the training seminar as a week-long class.  The cost of the class is $1,950.00 to the general public and includes four days of instruction, free parking, textbook and workbook, food during each day of training, and more!  Since the CEM credential was established in 1981, it has been an important way to establish mastery in energy management.
