Next Generation Manufacturing (NGM) is a process measuring manufacturers’ readiness, support systems and resources, and performances in key strategic areas necessary for world-class manufacturing and future success. Many manufacturers are turning towards NGM to determine if they have a framework of strategies in place to drive manufacturing growth and profitability.
The NGM Study provides for manufacturers in Illinois and across the nation to achieve success in the next generation, offering strategies that can help them capture competitive advantages, best practices to support execution of those strategies, and performance goals against which to measure their progress.
A “scorecard” of the study results provides a gap analysis between where manufacturers are today and where they need to be to achieve today and the decade ahead. Knowing where the critical needs are, manufacturers can strengthen and improve programs and services supporting that support these initiatives.
Any U.S. manufacturing owner, CEO or senior-level executive is eligible to participate in the NGM Study.
After completing the NGM Study, manufacturers will receive either a free, comprehensive Next Generation Performance Report that shows how their organization compares to similar manufacturers in key strategic areas (sent to manufacturers that provide contact information with their answers) or a free Data Report that includes all study results (sent to manufacturers that wish to remain anonymous by providing contact information separately from their answers).
The online survey launches on August 8 and will close on August 29, 2013. Preliminary survey results will be presented in conjunction with Manufacturing Day on October 4, 2013. Participating manufacturers will receive their Performance Data Reports by November 1, 2013.
