There is always room to improve any process or operation. By equipping team members to apply lean manufacturing principles and techniques, companies gain a competitive edge internally and externally. Continuous improvement is a method designed to implement incremental changes that will improve efficiency, increase profits and eliminate waste.

“Hands-on training made the concepts of lean easier for people to grasp, and it created a real sense of camaraderie among our employees. Once we had everybody’s attention, it was easy to start identifying areas for improvement in the organization.” Lucas Derry, President (Header Die & Tool Inc)

To help companies transform into a lean enterprise, IMEC is partnering with John Wood Community College to offer a six course series on the Fundamentals of Continuous Improvement. The courses are structured to help streamline product design and manufacturing, develop your team, identify opportunities for efficiency, and to eliminate waste. Each course offers hands-on factory simulation that will leave participants with the knowledge, tools, and application examples required to begin a lean transformation.

The six courses within the series include:

  • Lean 101
  • Lean Leadership/Change Management
  • Value Stream Mapping & 5S/Workplace Organization
  • Quick Changeover
  • Cellular/Flow Management
  • Pull/Kanban Systems & Total productive Management

By using the knowledge acquired from the six courses and implementing a continuous improvement plan, companies will:

  • Become more flexible
  • Cut Costs
  • Deliver on Time
  • Boost Quality
  • Increase capacity
  • Grow Sales
