IMEC Partners with CAIC for Expanded Manufacturing Outreach

The Illinois Manufacturing Excellence Center (IMEC) is proud to be working closely with the Calumet Area Industrial Commission (CAIC) to provide manufacturing companies located in its region with improvement opportunities. The CAIC focuses primarily on the Greater Calumet Area of Chicago and strives to provide an environment in which manufacturers can grow and prosper.

Through the agreement, IMEC and the CAIC will outreach to industrial members through events, one-on-one site visits and business retention meetings. Both organizations are focused on delivering the appropriate improvement opportunities to each company through services of IMEC, including continuous improvement, workforce development and training, sustainability, innovation and growth and supply chain initiatives.

“We are excited about the opportunity to work with the CAIC team and their members. We look forward to supporting the CAIC mission to create an environment in which industry will remain and grow,” said David Boulay, President of IMEC. Boulay and team have been working closely with the CAIC to develop an outreach plan that will promote technology and workforce advancements for manufacturing in the region.

The CAIC leadership is enthusiastic about the relationship and the outcome it will produce for companies in the area. President of the Calumet Area Industriaul Commission Ted Stalnos adding “this unique partnership will give our manufacturers another edge to be more competitive, locally, nationally and in the global market.”
