IMEC's Mike Johnston will participate in the MIT Enterprise Forum on Advanced Manufacturing

The MIT Enterprise Forum on Advanced Manufacturing will be held in Chicago, IL on January 17, 2012. The forum will address ways manufacturing contributes to the country’s economic growth and what is being done to rebuild America’s manufacturing sector. Johnston will act as moderator.

Adding more manufacturing jobs will be a key part of our economic recovery. Manufacturing jobs provide good pay and benefits, allowing manufacturing employees to exercise greater purchasing power than employees in many other sectors. As Director of Business Development, Mike Johnston is responsible for deploying IMEC’s strategy, technology, and efficiency solutions to help companies in the Chicago area become more productive and globally competitive. He brings to the forum extensive experience in building performance and sales for Midwestern companies, from small manufacturers to multi-nationals.

The panel will include:

Professsor Greg Olson, the Walter P. Murphy Professor of Materials, Science, and Engineering at Northwestern University and an MIT Alum.

Karen Huber, the Division Manager for Manufacturing Technology R&D at Caterpillar Inc. and currently serving on Obama’s Advanced Manufacturing Council.

Guy Cassidy, COO of ACME Manufacturing

Fee: $10 for members in advance, $20 at the door
